The International Culture and Education Charity Foundation (ICECF), in collaboration with the Chinese Moral Education Promotion Association, successfully held the “2025 International Filial Piety Culture Conference in TAIWAN” at National Taiwan University.

The conference centered around the Filial Piety Essay Contest Award Ceremony and the National Classics Evaluation (全國經典評核), creating an international cultural exchange platform that promotes peace in families, society, and the world through the spirit of filial piety.

During the morning Filial Piety Culture Symposium, scholars and experts from Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Thailand shared insights on moral education and cultural inheritance rooted in filial values. In the afternoon, the Filial Piety Calligraphy Exhibition opened with the presence of former Vice President Annette Lu, who delivered a congratulatory address. Following this, the Filial Piety Essay Contest Award Ceremony featured heartfelt readings by the award recipients. Their sincere words of gratitude and love for their parents deeply moved the audience, filling the venue with emotion.

ICECF has been organizing the Filial Piety Essay Contest in Japan for four consecutive years, publishing selected works and granting scholarships to encourage young people to cultivate a spirit of respect and gratitude toward their parents. The successful realization of this international conference, in partnership with the Chinese Moral Education Promotion Association, represents a significant milestone in the global promotion of filial piety culture.

On the same day, the National Classics Evaluation Award Ceremony (全國經典評核頒奨典禮) was also held. Participants — including children, students, and general attendees — were recognized by representatives from the Ministry of the Interior, local governments, educational institutions, and religious organizations for their achievements in learning traditional culture through recitation and memorization of the classics. This nationwide event, held across 18 venues, brought together more than 1,000 participants.

The conference also featured a vibrant cultural performance program, including Peking Opera face-changing, as well as traditional songs from Japan and Korea, offering a warm and diverse atmosphere of international friendship.

ICECF will continue to uphold the spirit of “repaying kindness through filial devotion”, advancing the inheritance of filial piety culture and promoting holistic human education through its educational, cultural, and international exchange initiatives.
