At the opening ceremony, Chairperson Motoko Tabata delivered the keynote address. The conference was honored by the presence of numerous distinguished guests from Korea’s political, educational, cultural, and religious sectors. Notable attendees included Assemblywoman Yoon In-sook of Yangcheon District, Choi Ho-gwon, Head of Yeongdeungpo District, Chairman Lee Gyu-seong, Assemblyman Ryu Seung-young, Master Hwesang, Director Son Yun of the Confucian Culture Education Center, as well as scholars specializing in filial piety studies. Mr. Ahn Bong-su, International Advisor to our Foundation, was also in attendance. Many guests expressed their support for the conference’s vision through congratulatory remarks.
The program featured artistic performances by artists from multiple countries, along with an award ceremony for the Filial Piety Essay Contest. The reading of award-winning essays and video messages of congratulations from family members deeply moved the audience, vividly conveying the warmth of parent-child relationships and heartfelt gratitude.
The conference concluded successfully with a closing declaration and a commemorative group photo. Realized through close cooperation between Korea and Japan, this international conference used “filial piety” as a shared cultural language, further deepening mutual understanding among professionals in the fields of culture, education, and the arts, and creating a meaningful platform for heartfelt international exchange.
Moving forward, our Foundation will continue to expand the international network for the exchange of filial piety culture. By fostering values rooted in gratitude, empathy, and respect, we aim to contribute to peace, family ethics, and social harmony across Asia and around the world.
